Position Description:


Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist II to join the Nevada Human Resources team to collaborate, support, influence and communicate with the Human Resources Business Partners and hiring managers on employment process and procedures to find people to join the Nevada Gold Mines team.



  • Responsible to build and maintain a pipeline of candidates to support the workforce needs through multiple activities and by implementing talent strategies.
  • Execute sourcing activities (including attending career fairs, college events, interview scheduling, etc.), managing the candidate experience.
  • Perform screening of applicants, assessment of their skill level/fit for roles and route appropriately.
  • Responsible to build and maintain relationships with passive candidates and referrals.
  • Utilize relevant technologies in digital, social media and job boards to source and recruit new and existing candidates.
  • Supports the employee referral tracking and bonus payout process.
  • Partner with recruiting coordinators to facilitate background screen and relocation processes.
  • Understands assigned service line(s) and assigned recruitment processes and technologies.
  • Implement the quality standards for data to provide accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Demonstrates ongoing compliance with all appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong customer service centered focus and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Strong communication skills and consultative skills, with ability to develop close relations and establish trust with clients and applicants.
  • Possesses knowledge in human resources related technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; knowledge of workforce planning (forecast, identify needs, locations and behaviors).
  • Possesses knowledge in recruitment practices, in-depth experience in interviewing and assessment techniques.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately.
  • Possesses knowledge in compliance and reporting requirements related to talent acquisition.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis on a business-related field preferred
  • Minimum two years recruiting and/or sourcing experience preferred, including using recruitment processes and Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Previous Human Resources experience (i.e. Compensation, Generalist, Recruiting, Benefits, etc.) preferred.
  • Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong work ethic, excellent relationship building, and negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to cooperate effectively with all levels of management and staff required.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time required.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (i.e., Taleo) preferred.
  • Experience with public speaking preferred.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office products, web-based social media and tablet applications preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.


The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018. Three of these assets are Tier One gold mines: Barrick’s Cortez; the combination of Barrick’s Goldstrike and Newmont Goldcorp’s Carlin; and the combination of Barrick’s Turquoise Ridge and Newmont Goldcorp’s Twin Creeks.
