Position Description:

The Superintendent, Administration will direct and lead the office administration, facilities and transportation management functions for Nevada Gold Mines, LLC (JV). This position provides the leadership, knowledge, judgment, and expertise to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the JV Elko office and other facilities, operations of all non-mining facilities, light vehicle fleet and employee transportation.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

Primary responsibilities are:

  • Managing the administrative processes of the JV Elko Office to include scheduling, flow of information, supplies, space allocation and equipment;

  • Developing, reviewing, improving and coordinating all administrative procedures and systems and constantly devise ways to streamline these processes;

  • Planning and coordinating with Communities and Corporate Affairs for the successful delivery of resources for visitors, tours, events, meetings, etc.;

  • Overseeing all aspects of non-mine Nevada facilities to ensure the effective and continues improvement for owned and leases facilities such as buildings, housing, temporary housing, parking lots and warehouse spaces;

  • Planning and coordinating with Human Resources Talent Acquisition team to ensure that owned and temporary leased housing is managed in an efficient, welcoming and cost-effective manner for temporary use by newly hired employees JV employee;

  • Assist the Human Resources Talent Acquisition with candidate meet and greet and familiarization with the areas where the JV has operating mines;

  • Assist the Communities and Corporate Affairs and Human Resources teams with employee and community events and ensure the JV branded gifts are available and securely stored for use with visitors, recruiting fairs and community events;

  • Ensuring cost-effective facilities services to include budgeting, maintenance, housekeeping, security and vendor relationships; 

  • Overseeing and ensuring the cost-effective management of the light vehicle fleet to include budgeting, contracts, vehicle available and retirement, registration and insurance;

  • Overseeing and ensuring the cost-effective management of the employee mass-transportation fleet to ensure ready availability of vans, busses and other vehicles as required for a 24-7 operation at all JV mines in Nevada to include budgeting, contract administration, availability, safe operation and transport policies and procedures; and

  • Managing the records retention program and ensure that all records are retained, stored or destroyed according to the JV’s current retention policy.

     

    Other duties include:

  • Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with the site and regional leadership;

  • Interacting with key government offices and committees to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws related to leases,

  • Staying informed of key developments and risks to mine operations related to employee transportation; and

  • Coordinating JV safety and security teams to ensure effective implementation of the light vehicle and employee mass transportation systems.

     

Qualifications:
  • BS or equivalent;
  • Minimum five years in the mining industry with a background administrative functions, facilities management and employee transportation is preferred; and
  • Minimum ten years in directing operational and cross-functional teams.
