Position Objective

We seek to recruit an experienced Auto Electrical Technical Specialist reporting directing to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Superintendent. This position will be responsible for establishing work priorities to meet operations production schedules with open pit supervision and ensure work is being scheduled to meet maintenance resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist planners in setting weekly backlog and service schedule for Auto-Electrical work to be carried out on all mobile equipment.
• Maintain work standards in accordance with government regulations and company policy.
• Provide recommendation measures to improve maintenance methods, equipment performance, and quality of repair work carried out by tradesman.
• Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. 
• Analyse and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
• Guide the team in the completion of tasks, to ensure achievement of the shift plan.

To be suitable for this role, you will possess the following:

• Recognised trade certificate in Automotive Electrical trade
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in relative technical area
• Extensive experience repairing and installing Remote Control Technologies (RCT) tele remote operating systems on Underground Loading equipment.
• Have Remote Control Technologies (RCT) OEM training
• Competent in a methodical approach to trouble shooting problems with equipment.
• Sound communication & technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Sound planning and organisational skills.
• Prepared to work to flexible company roster and to varied working hours as required to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.
• Ability to train National tradesmen and serviceman in all areas of auto electrical maintenance
• Proven experience in a supervisory role in relative technical area. 
• Must be able to provide a minimum of two certificates relevant to the role.
• Certificate IV Training and Assessment (preferable).
• Current Drivers Licence.

Your primary location will be the Porgera Mine Site. An on-travel allowance will be provided to candidates who reside outside of Cairns, Australia. Alternatively the Company will provide assistance as per BNL Relocation Policy to relocate the successful candidate to Cairns, Australia if the candidate holds a current visa to reside in Australia. The roster for this role is a fly in, fly out rotation on 16 days on, 12 days off.
