Senior Plant Metallurgist 

 

Location: Jabal Sayid, Medina Province, Saudi Arabia

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting to the Process Superintendent, we are searching for a mature, driven and focused Senior Plant Metallurgist with extensive base metal (Copper) sulphide flotation experience

  • Role will be the 2IC for the Process Superintendent

  • Maintain OH&S standards and ensure compliance within the process plant

  • Coordinate the daily to monthly Metallurgical and Technical inputs required for achieving the Budget and Forecast production plan

  • Ensure reagent and consumable consumption remains within Budget and Forecast, liaise extensively with Supply Chain in managing all Process reagents and consumables, while assisting to move closer to Just-In-Time stockholding of key process consumables

  • Manage the complete Technical Metallurgical Function, incl Metallurgical Accounting

  • Identify and manage continuous improvement initiatives to deliver improved performance

  • Build a collaborative team between Process and across sectional and departmental boundaries

  • Mentor Saudi Metallurgists, Chemists and Senior Operating Personnel, and lead Technical Training programme for the Saudi Operating Personnel, skills transfer and coaching, with record keeping (portfolio of evidence that training is done)

  • Will be required to act as Process Manager 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-year Tertiary Qualification in Extractive Metallurgy / Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering

  • A minimum of 10 years Metallurgist / Senior Plant Metallurgist / Process Superintendent / related Technical experience preferably in a base metal concentrator, employing crushing / grinding / flotation technology

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills and able to assemble data and provide clear and accurate operational performance reports to both senior and subordinate reporting lines

  • Business / Management qualification will be advantageous

  • MS Office Suite and current working knowledge of SCADA operating platform and related control systems

  • Previous expatriate experience will be advantageous
