Project Planner
Barrick is looking for a Project Planner to join the Asset Management Team . The Project Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling improvement projects in the process plant areas to reduce downtime events, increase throughput, reduce safety and environmental risks, exposure, reduce corrective maintenance work and improve preventive maintenance jobs through utilizing internal and external skill sets, available manpower, ensure quality / accurate project improvement schedules, coordination of resources, materials, permits and integration of opportunity execution timing to support operations production plans within our business units associated to process plant or mobile equipment, according to rules, policies and established procedures, to ensure the optimization and equipment availability. 

  • Plan and schedule improvement projects SOW activities while safely completing the identified and approved project charter goals and objectives within compliance to our environmental standards. Provide quality project planning and scheduling tools to the project execution team to enable completion of the project goals regarding to project objectives, project duration, project cost and project closure task to enable equipment performance sustainability and equipment performance integrity
  • Plan / schedule the projects utilizing project management tools to include, Microsoft project, Prims, Oracle work management functions, Excel, Power Point, work orders in the system using MMS, including workforce, resources, special tools, materials and services integrated project specialty, tools, commination tools
  • Create project plans and schedules through collaboration with the project engineer and other internal / external resources, ensure automatize and consistency to reduce the margin of error in the project plans for best tracking methods results
  • Prepare detailed plans to reduce SOW slip events based on engineering functions, execution team feedback and knowledge sharing technics
  • Monitor planned job feedback, ensure to integrate comments into the plan. Identify preventive maintenance needs and plan prioritizing according to the findings
  • Create requisitions of direct changes for materials that are not in the warehouse, to ensure comply with the project work plan and provide the required materials
  • Walk the project SOW field review for providing accurate project plans in collaboration with the engineer and project team members while obtaining before and after project completion photos and information document control and handover to the stakeholders
  • Request CID information to ensure all materials required for the project SOW are materials Catalogue, if new materials are needed ensure they are put into the catalog system for future availability
  • Gather and report current state equipment performance data and comparison data after integration into our process flows
  • Develop and load project equipment preventive maintenance activities to support process planning group targets
  • Fill in for the project team member with qualified skills in their absence as required

  • Bachelor's degree in a mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil discipline or related field 
  • Planning and scheduling for projects and or maintenance experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in maintenance, with at least two (2) years in planning role, preferable in mineral processing plant
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System  knowledge
  • Microsoft Office applications 
  • Prims
  • Oracle
  • Maintenance strategies
  • Work management process
  • Project management such as design, plan and follow up implementation
