Phoenix Mine Manager, Metal Production

Position Description:

An exciting opportunity exists to be part of the Phoenix/Lone Tree process team with commercial management responsibility of concentrate and cathode production at the site is available.

  • Commercial management of all Phoenix sales contracts
  • Long term contract negotiations
  • Subject Matter Expert of concentrate and cathode sales agreements and communicate with internal stakeholders on contract details
  • Collection and input of analytical data for concentrate tracking purposes
  • Management of site concentrate and cathode inventory to ensure contract fulfillment is met in a timely manner
  • Manage flow of concentrate in transit and be able to provide real-time updates as required
  • Provide updates to both customers and site management on any potential risks to sales contracts and concentrate quality
  • Coordinate, execute and evaluate assay exchanges
  • Provide internal audit for all commercial invoicing
  • Coordinate with accounting for timely issuance and execution of both provisional and final invoice
  • Provisional vs final weight reconciliations for both cathode and copper concentrate (specifically site to port/smelter and port to final receipts)
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasting
  • Support corporate activities of procuring ocean transport including related 3rd party services (loading/discharge port reps, load port sampling, local port agencies, ship brokers, etc).
  • Drive assay bias evaluation between control assays (AHK) and customer.
  • Maintaining quotation period pricing forecast and taking proactive approach to optimize profile.
  • Commercial evaluations as required

The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

  • Metallurgist or Chemical Engineering degree preferred; Bachelor's degrees and five (5) year experience
  • Process experience: floatation and SXEW plant
  • Keen business sense toward maximizing cash flow
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Detailed oriented, adoptable, and energetic with key focus on continuous improvement
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work under pressure and be able to multi task
  • Exceptional communication skills in the area of: presentations, written, listening, providing feedback and speaking
