Position Description:

 

The incumbent must be able to complete their duties in a professional manner, maintain good working relationships with co-workers, engineering personnel, mine supervision and underground workers. They must be able to organize the work required to cover their respective mine area. They must be available to do call out work when required for diamond drill supervision and underground grade control. Ensure all programs, personal actions and approaches support Barrick’s goals for safety and sustainability.  Act as a safety champion and constantly apply the principals and spirit of Courageous Safety Leadership and Courage to Care.

This position is residential.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Management and implementation of databases used by the Mineral Resource Group including Drill, Production, Mapping and Reconciliation databases.
  • Data organization.  Making sure that data is organized and available. Incl: data exports for use in various software, level maps, level plans, chip/channel sample data, SG data, RFID tracking data, etc.
  • Database validation and QAQC of the data on an ongoing base maintaining the validity of the databases.
  • Assist in the UG as required including vacation coverage, training and mapping QAQC.
  • Drill core logging and other duties in the core shack, as required.
  • Regular Reporting. Assist with Daily-Weekly-Monthly report preparation as required.
  • Complete software training and acQuire certification.

Organize claims and land tenure information. and                            

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 2 years or more of underground mining experience preferred
  • Preferred experience/certification in acQuire, ArcGIS, Deswik, SQL Coding and Vulcan
  • Sound understanding of Ontario mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
