1. Role purpose
Support Senior Exploration Geologist in:
• Improving the understanding the geology and mineralization controls of the Hemlo deposit, as basis for robust targeting, quality resource modelling, and effective mine planning.
• Defining and testing robust exploration targets in near-mine environment and identifying other opportunities in the belt through

2. Key Responsibility Areas
• Contribute to geological interpretations of the Hemlo deposit and ore controls: data compilation, integration and 3D modelling; cross-section and level plan interpretations; in close interaction with Mineral Resource Management team.
• Contribute to defining robust exploration targets: compilation of extensive historical exploration work and integration in site database; surface mapping and sampling; historical core review; update surface and cross-section interpretation
• Support exploration drill programs: design drill program and monitor drilling progress; core logging; up-to-date plotting and interpretation of drill sections; implementation and monitoring of relevant workflows and procedures (QA-QC, etc).

Specific functional duties include:
• Prepare budgets and monitor/report on costs
• Submit weekly reports highlighting key progress and results towards objectives

3. Key Role Qualifications Required
• Bachelor of Science in Geology
• Registered, or ability to register, as a Professional Geoscientist  with APGO
 
4. Key Skills & Experience Required
• Internship or summer employment in regional or mine-based exploration would be desirable
• Basic knowledge of the geology and gold deposits of Archean greenstone belts will be highly regarded.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Organized, motivated, and self-starter, with high standards expected of themselves and others
• Strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, community and environment.
• Working knowledge of relevant software, including Microsoft Office, ArcGIS and Leapfrog .
• Valid driver license required
