Position Description:

 

The successful candidate will conduct and/or assist with multi-departmental coordination and development of operational activities with the Health, Safety and Environment team. The position is expected to manage and facilitate global meetings – including scheduling, presentation coordination, and track action items.  The position will also develop communication tools, such as dashboards, presentations, information summaries.  At times the position will coordinate travel schedules and work with team members to coordinate and plan offsite events.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage information in the corporate EHS data management system, verify information is timely and representative.
  • Organize, design and maintain the EHS global SharePoint site.
  • Prepare communications based on EHS data including reports and presentations.
  • Assist with the transition to the new EHS data management system – help new users become self-sufficient, create impactful dashboards, verify data accuracy.
  • Assist with the development of the reports, particularly the quarterly report for the board of directors.
  • Work with the global team to prepare internal EHS communications to celebrate success and highlight achievements.
  • Plan, schedule and facilitate global EHS meetings and track action items.
  • Manage the EHS budget – assist with the budgeting process, track consultant spend, track monthly progress vs. budget and develop periodic forecasts.
  • Conduct research and support various projects as required, including consolidating multiple resources/information into a consolidated report or presentation and analyzing data sets for new insight.
  • Plan, coordinate and carryout special events and workshops and assist with travel arrangements, as required.
  • Document any identified required changes and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Help design, document and maintain system processes.
  • Manage and assist in building reports.
  • Look for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and provide solutions to the group.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Environmental Engineering, Health and Safety or similar field
  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resources; sets goals and objectives; organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; develops realistic action plans.

  • Communication:  ability to communicate, create confidence and influence in their interaction with different regions and site across the world in Barrick

  • Ability to speak Spanish is an asset
