Position Description:
 

The successful candidate will safely and effectively coordinate the training curriculum of the Open Pit Maintenance Department.  As a trainer, it is important to be able to adopt new ideas, improvements, and good practice – safety, health, environmental, maintenance, production, and cost reduction - to execute a state of the art training program Maintenance personnel to develop skill sets that challenge individual and team growth. 

 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Candidate must direct needs assessments as a partner in collaboration with the mobile maintenance department and assist in the interpretation of results. 
  • Selected person must be able to collaborate with peers, mechanics, and management.
  • Candidate must promote a safe working environment, procedures and culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum three (3) years maintenance experience or equivalent industrial type environment, with demonstrated training success in relevant assignment required
  • Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in mobile maintenance required
  •  Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required
  • Proven safety and environmental leadership through Courageous Leadership and Visible Felt Leadership required
  • Sound understanding of safety and environment requirements associated with operating as Responsible Miners required
  • Cooperate with supervisors and managers on management of safety, environmental, maintenance, and production issues required
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite software and Oracle preferred
  • Excellent communication skills—both oral and written required
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, decision making, organizational and interpersonal skills required

About Nevada Gold Mines
 

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

 

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018. Three of these assets are Tier One gold mines: Barrick’s Cortez; the combination of Barrick’s Goldstrike and Newmont Goldcorp’s Carlin; and the combination of Barrick’s Turquoise Ridge and Newmont Goldcorp’s Twin Creeks. In addition, Barrick’s Goldrush-Fourmile project has the potential to become the fourth Tier One asset in this portfolio.
