GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will be part of the Senior Open Pit Engineering group. This is a senior role and will include supervision within the Engineering group. Initial duties will include project management of open pit activities for the Arturo project. Other duties may include supervision of drill and blast engineering, mine planning, road design, dispatch engineering, ore control, or other engineering projects as required within the engineering group. This position will also require the engineer to communicate engineering plans, pattern designs, sequences, dumping priorities, etc. to operations and other stakeholders on site and ensure plans are carried out safely and efficiently. Other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field required
• Five (5) to Ten (10) years progressive experience in open pit planning or production preferred
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Excel, and other Microsoft office programs required
• Working knowledge of Vulcan, Minesite or Q’Pit preferred
• Ability to work with a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
• Strong leadership abilities and excellent safety record required
