GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Develop weekly, monthly, three month rolling, yearly and Life of Mine (LOM) mine plans
• Ensure the short range and long range plans are implemented through production meetings with the mine operations supervisors and through daily interaction with the planning group
• Develop first principle cost models and use budgeting software (Xeras)
• Produce monthly, quarterly and yearly summary reports
• Establish a fleet replacement strategy at the mine
• Participate in major improvement projects
• Coordinate all mine engineering functions as applied to the ongoing operation of the mine
• Additional projects and tasks as assigned
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• BS in Mining or Geological Engineering required
• Minimum 3 years mine engineering experience in a underground mining environment and planning activities preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in project management and associated software, sucha as Microsoft Office, EPS Scheduler (Mine Works) and Vulcan.
• Demonstrated knowledge with first principle budgeting software (Xeras) preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
• Demonstrated capacity to execute and hold self, as well as others, accountable for results required
