GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Goldstrike’s Autoclave operation is currently seeking a self-motivated Metallurgical Technician to join their team. Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties and activities:
Responsibilities include:
• Actively contributing to process area safety and safety programs
• Work safely around process equipment and various reagents
• Conduct environmental monitoring and maintain records as required
• Carry out routine metallurgical test work
• Accurately record, collate and report results
• Assist with plant sampling, surveys, and research and development
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of metallurgical equipment
• Other duties as assigned
Additionally, the successful candidate must be capable of effectively communicating with operations, maintenance and management personnel.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Basic knowledge of Metallurgical Lab functions and mineral plant unit operations preferred.
• Proven safety record and ability to support work group in attainment of safety, environmenta, equipment protection, and production goals required.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. required.
• Capable of walking up and down stairs along with uneven surfaces required.
• Strong math skills required.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of this position required.
