GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: Duties include but not limited to the following:
• Lead and develop environmental technicians and specialists
• Provide technical environmental input on work associated with the installation, operation and maintenance of process equipment used to determine constitute levels in the air, land and water
• Assist in the maintenance, evaluation and reporting of collected data to Barrick management and governmental agencies
• Assist operating division personnel in a customer service role, facilitating timely permitting of projects through communication, planning, design review, permit-writing and follow through with regulatory authorities
• Assist in building and maintaining the Environmental Management System
• Assist with inspections of all Goldstrike operations to ensure permit compliance
• Assist with training of Barrick employees, contractors and others as necessary
• Assist in air related inputs for the development and the implementation of the Environmental Management System
• Responsible for periodic, after-hours, on-call response to environmental incidents
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field required
• 0-3 years experience in mining preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, AutoCad, Arcview, SQL Based Systems preferred
• Ability to work with a team environment required
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
