GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will be responsible for working with Regional Projects staff as well as Regional sites Safety and Health to develop and implement strategies to control risk in regional projects. Assist with formal and high-level risk assessments and identifying training needs. Provide safety and health coaching, mentoring and training to Project Contractors, Project Managers and Barrick contractor representatives. Assist with internal inspections and audits and provide assistance to project management and MSHA/State officials during inspections. Provide technical support and direction to project management and serve as a resource for contractor safety personnel and ensure contractor adherence to site safety requirements. Other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related degree preferred
• Previous Construction Safety and Health experience preferred
• Previous training experience preferred. MSHA instructor experience a plus.
• Prior knowledge and/or experience in Construction related OSHA and MSHA regulations preferred
• Ability to speak in front of varied, dynamic groups of people required
• Excellent communication and computer skills and demonstrated ability to problem-solve required
• Ability to work with and communicate well with all levels of management as well as Federal agencies required
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, demanding work environment required
