GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will provide technical support for Barrick’s Capital Projects. Manage engineering consultants doing detailed engineering, design and costing for large capital projects. Provide design input to engineering consultants to ensure designs meet Barrick’s operating permit requirements. Support a staff of Project Managers and Field Supervisors. Interface with current staff and departments to obtain customer input and support of designs. Interface with environmental department to ensure all permitting is in place to prevent delays to constructions, commissioning and operation of capital projects. Provide technical support to construction managers during construction. Other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 10 years experience required
• 15 years plus experience preferred
• Knowledge in mine operations, construction and experience in managing projects, developing budgets, writing AFE’s for capital improvements preferred
• Experience with PMI project management preferred
• Professional Engineer (Nevada) designation preferred
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation preferred
• Mechanical engineering experience in operations, maintenance, and reliability of mineral processing equipment preferred
• Supervisor experience required
• Experience with contractors and contract management required
• Competence in Microsoft Office programs required. Oracle knowledge preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills required
