We are seeking a dedicated, proactive and self-motivated Project Geologist for our regional head office in Perth. Reporting to the Mine Development Superintendant, this position will be responsible for undertake planning, budgeting, supervision and execution of exploration activities. You will be interpreting results and reporting for a tenement or a group of tenements making up exploration projects . Whilst the role is Perth based it will involve regular travel to site with a flexible roster of 8/6 or 5/2.
Key responsibilities include:
* Design, implement and supervise all geological work for exploration projects to ascertain their potential to host economic gold deposits
* Manage assigned geological programme, including supervision of field crew, drill rig and contractor personnel
* Review and collate all historical data for specified projects (eg grade control, metallurgical, geochemical data), provide geological and mineralisation interpretation and assist with Resource modeling when required.
* Create and validate prospect databases and ensure all data is extracted from the parent database as required and is of the highest possible quality. (eg logging, assay, survey, QAQC, metallurgical and density data).
* Complete tenement reporting requirements as required
* Ensure all logs are completed, validated and downloaded to the database each day.
* Upload new data into the database following procedures in order to maintain high quality data.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in Geology
• Demonstrated experience within gold mining industry
• Strong communication and administration skills
• Self motivation, leadership and management skills
• Understanding and recognition of mineralisation models and geological processes
• Recent exposure to the Software Acquire, MapInfo, ArcGIS, Vulcan and Surpac would be an advantage
