Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Mining Manager, this position will be responsible for mine design and scheduling to maximise the profits for all Barrick Kanowna underground mines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote safety, health and environmental awareness;
Ensure all mine designs and schedules from 3 months to Life of Mine are provided within site and corporate time frames;
Preparation of quarterly Mine24D – EPS mine plan and schedules.
Provide assistance in designing stopes and statutory geotechnical guidance to all underground mines within Barrick Kanowna;
Maintain and look to improve the planning systems and business processes;
Identify improvement opportunities and formulate alternatives to systems and methods;
Assist the Mining Manager with the implementation of change management initiatives and other business improvement projects;
Perform risk analysis of the mine plan and cost models to determine the probability and sensitivity of the mine plan to variances.
Requirements:
You will be a professional with significant mine planning experience, particularly in senior underground planning roles. You will have an understanding of Life of Mine planning; experience in reserve estimation and reporting; knowledge of relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the WA mining industry and experience in conceptual studies on ore bodies. You will also be able to demonstrate continuous improvement ideas and have the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
