Donlin Gold is one of the world's largest undeveloped gold deposits, owned and operated by Donlin Gold LLC, which is owned equally by NovaGold Resources and Barrick Gold U.S. Donlin Gold is expected to be one of just a handful of gold mines worldwide that produces more than one million ounces of gold annually, making it a true world-class asset. Donlin Gold LLC will complete a feasibility update for the project in the second half of 2011 with permit applications to follow.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
 
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
 
The Environmental Engineer will work closely with the Environmental, Permitting, and Engineering teams to develop, review, and oversee water, wastewater, solid waste, and air quality management programs to support permitting, construction, operations, and closure of the Donlin Creek Mine. Responsibilities and Duties include:
 
 ·Coordinate with technical team and engineering consultants to ensure that environmental and permitting considerations are adequately addressed during engineering and design.
·Work with the technical team to incorporate engineering data into permit applications, and to complete data reports to support permitting.
·Work with Environmental department to develop, maintain, and oversee site water and wastewater systems.
·Coordinate and manage specialty subcontractors or project team members for specific engineering studies.
·Develop/provide expertise in the field of air emissions and controls.
·Prepare technical documents, as required to support engineering, environmental, and permitting.
·Participate in regulatory meetings and serve as subject matter expert for engineering related issues.
·Participate in community engagement efforts to explain engineering concepts to stakeholders.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE;
·Bachelor Degree in environmental engineering, engineering, air sciences, or related field. Professional designation (PE) is preferred.
.2-5 years experience in environmental engineering, environmental science, or compliance, preferably in the mining industry.
·Experience in Title V and PSD permitting, permit compliance and compliance testing for criteria and hazardous air pollutants is preferred
·Ability to communicate effectively.
·Ability to understand and communicate technical aspects of water quality, waste management, and reclamation requirements.
Knowledge of Autocad and other engineering design tools a plus
